Diesel particulate filter cleaning, service and diagnosis — including the regen problems and derates that put a truck on the shoulder.
The DPF is the single most common reason a modern diesel derates and stops making money. A filter that will not regen, a truck that goes into limp mode on a grade, a dash light nobody can clear — that is the work, and it is work we do constantly.
A blocked DPF is often a symptom rather than the fault. Cleaning a filter without finding out why it loaded up buys you a few weeks. We diagnose the cause — injectors, EGR, sensors, turbo, duty cycle — and fix that too.
Call For Service · 619·561·5317 ↗Maybe, but frequent regens are usually telling you something upstream is loading the filter faster than it should — injectors, EGR, a turbo problem, or a duty cycle the truck was not specced for. Replacing the filter without finding that leaves you back here in a month.
Many filters clean up. Whether yours does depends on its condition and how much ash has accumulated, which is a function of miles and oil consumption rather than soot. We will tell you which case you are in before spending your money.
Call the shop. A derate is the engine protecting itself, and continuing to run it that way is how a filter problem becomes an engine problem. We can often tell from the codes whether it is something we can clear or whether it needs to come in.
It can, and DPF and emissions work land in the same shop here — so if you fail a CARB test with us, you are already where the repair happens rather than towing to a second shop.
The shop is on Riverside Drive in Lakeside, so the tow is short from most of East County — and a short tow is real money on a truck that will not roll. We take work from across San Diego County.
Call the shop and talk to someone who works on trucks. No call centre, no runaround.
